شاتل فضایی آتلانتیس به زمین بازگشت

شاتل فضایی آتلانتیس بعد از یک ماموریت 13 روزه به زمین بازگشته است.

این شاتل روز یکشنبه (24 مه) در ساعت 15:39 دقیقه به وقت گرینویچ در یک پایگاه هوایی در ایالت کالیفرنیای آمرکا فرود آمد.

آژانس فضایی آمریکا (ناسا) فرود شاتل آتلانتیس را موفقیت آمیز ارزیابی کرده است.

آتلانتیس دوشنبه (11مه) برای تعمیر تلکسوپ فضایی هابل از فلوریدا عازم فضا شده بود.

قرار بود این شاتل در مرکز فضایی کندی در فلوریدا فرود بیاید.

اما به دلیل وضع نامساعد هوا، آتلانتیس حدود سه روز دیرتر از موعد مقرر در پایگاه هوایی ادواردز در کالیفرنیا فرود آمد.

در برج کنترل ماموریت آتلانتیس مستقر در ایالت تگزاس، پرسنل ناسا از فرود موفقیت آمیز این شاتل غرق شادی و شعف شدند.

از برج کنترل این پیام کوتاه به 7 فضانورد آتلانتیس فرستاده شد: "آتلانتیس به خانه خوش آمدی. تبریک بر تو به خاطر این ماموریت موفقیت آمیز."

تیم فضانوردان آتلانتیس در این ماموریت موفق به تعمیر تلسکوپ فضایی هابل شد.

برخی از ستاره شناسان، تلسکوپ فضایی هابل را مهم ترین ابراز علمی ایی که تا کنون اختراع شده می دانند.

فضانوردان آتلانتیس به منظور تعمیر هابل و نیز نصب دروبین های پیشرفته در این تلسکوپ 5 بار در فضا راهپیمایی کردند، ماموریتی دشوار اما موفقیت آمیز که به گفته ناسا بین 5 تا 10 سال عمر هابل را افزایش داده است.

شاتل آتلانتیس در حالی به آمریکا بازگشته که دولت آمریکا برای اولین بار یک فضانورد بازنشسته آفریقایی تبار بنام چارلز بولدن را به عنوان رئیس بعدی ناسا منصوب کرده است.

کاخ سفید همچنین بودجه امسال ناسا را حدود دو و نیم میلیارد دلار افزایش داده است.

ناسا برای انتقال شاتل آتلانتیس از کالیفرنیا به پایگاه اصلی اش در فلوریدا حداقل دو میلیون دلار هزینه خواهد کرد.

نخستين بانوي استاد فيزيك ايران بعد از بنيانگذاري نخستين رصدخانه و تلسكوپ خورشيدي تاريخ نجوم ايران ، فارغ التحصيلي از دانشگاه سوربن پاريس و 30 سال تدريس در دانشگاه هم اكنون با خيالي آسوده و خاطراتي خوش بر روي تخت آسايشگاه سالمندان ، تنها افتخار خود را تربيت دانشجويان موفق (استادان امروز) مي‌داند .
